Long Layover at John Glenn Columbus International Airport

During my long layover at John Glenn Columbus International Airport, I decided to make the most of my time by exploring the various food and drink options. Here’s how my day went:

7:00 AM – Coffee Start at illy Coffee

My layover began with a much-needed caffeine boost from the illy Coffee vending machine located pre-security. This innovative machine, a combo with Prepango and Illy, grinds beans on demand to produce high-quality, sustainable coffee, espresso, hot chocolate, and more. It was the perfect way to start my day with a fresh and flavorful cup of coffee.

9:00 AM – More Coffee at Starbucks

After passing through security, I headed to Starbucks in Concourse B. Open from 4:15 AM to 8 PM, Starbucks offered my favorite hot and cold blends. I ordered my go-to latte via the Starbucks mobile app for a quick pick-up, ensuring I stayed energized for the next leg of my journey.

11:00 AM – Mid-Morning Treat at Auntie Anne’s Pretzels

Around mid-morning, I craved a snack and found Auntie Anne’s Pretzels in Concourse B. Open from 9 AM to 7 PM; they offered a variety of pretzels, nuggets, stix, and dogs in different flavors. I opted for their classic soft pretzel, which was warm, buttery, and delicious.

1:00 PM – Lunch at Land-Grant Brewing Co.

For lunch, I decided to try Land-Grant Brewing Co., located in Concourse B, and open from 11 AM to 8:30 PM Sunday through Friday and until 7 PM on Saturdays. This airport taproom serves crafted drafts from an eight-tap system featuring Land-Grant’s core beers and rotating seasonals. I paired my drink with a flatbread, a perfect mid-day meal in a relaxed setting.

3:00 PM – Relaxation at PGA TOUR Grill

I went to the PGA TOUR Grill in Concourse C in the afternoon, open from 5 AM until the last departure. This sports dining concept offers a range of hearty dishes, great views of the north airfield, and comfortable seating. I enjoyed a light salad while watching planes take off and land, which added a nice touch to my layover experience.

6:00 PM – Sweet Ending at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream

To end my long layover on a sweet note, I visited Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, which has vending machines located in Concourses A, B, and C and pre-security. These specialty machines serve up grab-and-go ice cream cups and other frozen treats. I indulged in a cup of their signature ice cream, the perfect way to treat myself before my next flight.

My John Glenn Columbus International Airport layover was quite enjoyable, thanks to the diverse dining options. From fresh coffee to delicious pretzels, craft beers, hearty meals, and delectable ice cream, there was something to satisfy every craving.
